The number of overweight kids in the world has doubled in the last ten years and kids weight loss has become a hot topic.

Everyone seems to be finger-pointing as to the particular reasons as to why this has occurred. The most obvious reasons are that children are eating more calories and exercising less. Compared to ten years ago, children are consuming an additional 100 calories and more a day.

Extra calories usually come in the form of soda pop, fast-food, and candy. Children are participating less in physical activity, in part because schools demand less from them and in part because less inexpensive and available opportunities subsist. Then we wonder why overweight kids are becoming a major problem in our lives. The have been many reports and studies done on how child obesity and really obesity in general is a key component in the amazing rise in health care costs.

It is generally agreed upon if you want weight loss then eat less and exercise more. Seems almost too simple, but in this time of physical fitness on video games like the Wii, weight loss programs feeding us ultra processed junk and every other infomercial is about the new diet pill, it is a wonder every one does not overweight children. It is soon to pass were every other person you see needs some kind of weight loss diet plan. We must come up with ways to help with kids weight loss now before it is too late
